Jose Julio update

from: Avi Chomsky

Thanks to everyone who has expressed concern and offered support for Jose Julio and his family. He was released from the hospital late last week, but the family will be staying in Valledupar while he continues with physical therapy. He is making slow improvements in recovering motion and strength on the side of his body that was paralyzed. They are hoping for a full recovery, but it will definitely be a long process. He is also extremely weak and exhausted.
I was able to wire $1400 to his family last week, and am planning to send another wire next week because contributions continue to come in. Their expenses are enormous: Maria Isabel (Jose Julio's wife) said "I never could have imagined that one person getting sick could cost so much." They asked me to send a huge thanks to everybody who has offered to help.
Avi
